AUTUMN/WINTER 2011
The current range has been inspired buy patterns found around and in the street and traditional motifs in Scottish and Scandinavian textiles.
We use a soft fine lambswool yarn to make all the products. The products are knitted on a hand-operated domestic knitting machine and then it is scoured and finished to give the fabric the right balance between felting and pattern definition.
Most pieces are knitted using the Fairisle technique. This means there are small "floats" of yarn across the back of the knitting. We try to design our patterns in a clever way, to minimise floats and to ensure the back of the knitted fabric looks just as good as the front.
Our yarns come from a small number of suppliers, depending on the colours that are available. Colours change from season to season according to the dye batch of the yarn manufacturers. Our yarn is made from Geelong lambswool- the first cut from the sheep-
which is light in weight and traps air really well, keeping your warm. We love working with beautiful, high-quality yarns. Our suppliers are also shared by many established labels such as Hackett of London, Barrie, Celine, Sonia Rykiel and designers throughout the UK and Italy.
How Should I Care for my Lambswool Scarves and Cushions?
The products are made from 100% lambswool and must NEVER be washed in water. They are professional dry-clean only. Under no circumstances should the garment be tumble-dried or dried in direct heat.
If your scarf gets wet in the snow or rain, allow your scarf to dry on a flat surface in an ventilated area. Do no hang over a rail or radiator etc as this will change the shape of your scarf. You can then gently press your scarf back into shape with a low-heat iron.
Because we do not over felt the products, there is more movement and more suppleness in the fabric. This allows the properties of the soft lambswool to work at their best. This also means you have to be careful with snags, sharp jewellery etc. If you do get a snag or damage please get in touch, for a minimal fee we can do our best to repair your item.
This information is can also be found in the swing tag on your scarf/cushion.
